Drake is the main antagonist of Don Bluth's 8th animated feature film The Pebble and the Penguin. He is the arch-nemesis of Hubie.
He was voiced by Tim Curry.
Why is He in Reception Scaling Purgatory?[]
- While his detractors hate him for having no good reason to antagonize Hubie other than for the sake of them both wanting to win Marina's heart, despite him not actually loving Marina for who she is, as well as being a self-entitled creep who forces himself onto Marina without an ounce of care for her personal boundaries nor her feelings, this reaction to the character is clearly intentional. Due to this, he is not a Scrappy.
- Though, he alongside the movie he's from were more disliked upon release, this has changed in recent years, thanks to the film gaining a sizable number of defenders that would defend the movie and the characters at every chance, which salvaged his character and caused the film to be seen in a much better light. Still, he cannot be Base-Breaking, as his detractors solely hate him for intentional reasons as mentioned above.
- While he is well-liked by most Pebble and the Penguin fans, he is still too polarizing to be a Main-Light Horse.
- No thanks to his status as the main villain in the film, he’s too important to qualify as an Ensemble Dark Horse.
